Part One: Rasa Workshop

A two-part workshop for writers with some experience already in writing. How do we express emotional complexity? How do we vary the emotional experiences for our readers?
Mostly used in performance work, a Rasa is an eastern exploration of the expression of eight emotional states. We will take four Rasas each week and explore what words to use, how to pace, how to vary, how to give tension and respite in our stories. It is one technique which I am finding is very useful to have as a writing tool. Mostly for prose in this instance, but poetry can be adapted equally.
