Journeymen Theatre's new play, Lock Down, explores the complexities of the UK Penal System and how it impacts upon both inmates and those who work within it. In particular, it exposes the pressures and stresses caused by the increasing number of elderly men who will see out their days behind bars. Brahms’ German Requiem is not a requiem mass or a statement of conventional religious dogma; it is a meditation on our mortality—truthful, challenging and deeply consoling. Music of Faith at Kingston Quaker Centre

Professor John Irving, a concert pianist and former professor at the Guildhall School of Music, will play some of his favourite pieces on the excellent Yamaha electronic keyboard in our Meeting Room at Kingston Quaker Centre and talk of his musical experience. There will be time to talk with John afterwards over the refreshments. We think this is an event you will find enjoyable and enlightening. A collection will be taken in aid of the Royal Agricultural Benefit Institution.
