Numinous – the astonishing story of Henry Morris
June 28, 2022 @ 8:00 am - 5:00 pm
Free‘Numinous’ is a solo object-theatre show about Henry Morris, the visionary responsible for the Village Colleges in Cambridgeshire.
Morris believed in “education from the cradle to the grave” and devoted his life to creating colleges in which all the activities “which go to make a full life”.
Using material from archives and recorded memories, the show is performed with (and by) objects he would have been familiar with.
Writer and performer Andy O’Hanlon says: “When working in Cambridgeshire, I found that Village Colleges were keen to participate in arts projects of all kinds. Through being involved in their anniversary celebrations, I heard about Henry Morris and began to wonder about the person – and the mind – behind the places. ‘Numinous’ was one of Morris’s favourite words and embodies his gift of finding wonder and joy in everyday life.”
‘Numinous’ begins its tour of Cambridgeshire at 7pm on Tuesday 28 June and finishes on 30th June.
