Mindful Mending/Stitching
September 9, 2023 @ 10:00 am - 1:00 pm
£48MINDFUL STITCHING/MENDING
September 9th 2023 – 10am-1pm
£48 per person
In a busy world, stitching can help ground us and provide a relaxing, practical form of simple stress relief. Join Jane to make a textile piece from scraps of material echoing the Japanese technique of Boro stitching. This easily translates into mending garments, and you will learn how to go about repairing damaged garments such as jeans and jumpers, giving them a new lease of life and helping care for the environment.
The tutor will provide all materials, but you need to bring along a pair of small, sharp scissors, pins and a large eyed embroidery needle to accommodate the threads we will be using. If you have a small repair you would like to tackle, bring that along too.
Suitable for all abilities.
Refreshments – Hot drinks and biscuits are ‘on-tap’ throughout the session and lunch is available to buy from our on-site Cafe.
FREE entry to the Quaker Tapestry Museum for all attendees on the days of the workshop.
