Arts-based Meetings for Worship

Quaker Arts Network – lunchtime meetings for worship

David Curtis, QAN Trustee at Arts Based Meeting for Worship

From 4 November to the 9 December inclusive, every Tuesday at 1pm, the Quaker Arts Network is holding thirty minute meetings for worship, with a difference.

Each meeting features a Quaker Arts Network member presenting short, prepared ministry relating to an art form e.g. music, the written or spoken word, visual art, photography or film.

The first lunchtime session on Tuesday 4 November will be led by David Curtis, the new clerk of the Network. His is a meditative focus, in the form of Quaker Plainsong by Paulette Meier, using a harmonium and quotations from texts by early Quakers. David led a Quaker epilogue in this way, in the Franciscan tent at the Greenbelt Festival earlier this year.

All Meetings will be on Zoom at lunch time on six Tuesdays in November and early December, at 12.55 pm for a 1 pm start. Around 1.25 pm an Elder will close the worship and participants in the worship will be invited to share and discuss any responses. Meetings will end by 1.45pm.

Please contact the QAN on qanevents@gmail.com for a full list of presenters and the Meeting for Worship Zoom link.

A further six lunchtime Meetings for Worship are planned for the period 3 February to 10 March inclusive.
