COLLATERAL DAMAGE
News 0 Comments
This community textile project commemorates victims of wars in the century since World War One by inviting anyone to make unique textile poppies in honour of particular victims. About 50 Quaker groups and many other people made around 4,000 poppies for a mass installation at Friends House which is on show until 21 December . Poppies and labels can continue to be added to the Friends House display, and a printable flyer including suggestions for poppy making is here.
There’s a short video about the project which can also be shared via on the project’s Facebook page has lots photos both of this and of displays and events elsewhere. Postcards are on sale at the Quaker Centre and by mail order from Peace Pledge Union.
It may be possible to exhibit the display elsewhere in the new year . If you know a venue that would be interested, please put them in touch directly with collateraldamage@gmail.com.
