Loving Earth Project
News 6 CommentsThe LOVING EARTH PROJECT is is a new community aiming to help people engage with the challenging issues of climate break-down, using arts and crafts, especially a community textile project, motivated by love. It may also help us mourn past or future losses.
More information is at lovingearth-project.uk
The project was started by Friends but is open to all. It is supported by the Quaker Arts Network, Friends World Committee for Consultation. and Swarthmoor Hall, where the first few panels of the textile project are on display till 8 September. After that, they will come to London and form a growing, travelling display.
All individuals or groups are welcome to participate – there are lots of ways you can do this , eg organising a workshop for a local craft group, your Meeting, community group or school. We’re also seeking a few people to help offer workshops, and to keep track of the project as it grows. Do get in touch if you’e inspired! Enquiries to lovingearthproject@gmail.com.

Very pleased to hear that people are starting to prepare their panels for this project and that some other displays are being thought about, after the Seeking Routes exhibition this summer.
If you want to have a local exhibition, and to include panels made elsewhere as well as locally, do get in touch.
After 1 September 2019, panels should be sent to Loving Earth Project, c/o FWCC, Friends House, 173-177 Euston road, London NW1 2 BJ.

Dear Kakala Joshua,
Thanks for being in touch. You can find out more about the projet from our website at http://lovingearth-project.uk . There are many resources on the website, including videos and information sheets about making panels on the Resources page. You are welcome to adapt them for local use.
It would be lovely if you wanted to make some textile panels to contribute to the project; you can then email us photos and a short text for each one. These would go on our online gallery so they can be seen around the world.
It would be great to have a couple of panels about your work on disaster relief, for example, saying why you are doing this work and to draw people’s attention to the increase in disasters from man-made climate change.
We are no longer inviting many panels to join the travelling collection for exhibitions, as we will be drawing the main project to a close at the end of 2023, but you are welcome to hold your own exhibitions locally, and we may still invite a few panels on subjects not yet well covered if they can reach us by early summer.
If you have further questions please email us at lovingearthproject@gmail.com .
