Loving Earth Stitch and chat workshop

January 16, 2023 @ 10:00 am - 12:00 pm

Are you concerned about the environment?
Do you like making things, playing with materials?
Do you enjoy talking informally with others about issues that concern us all?

If so, you might enjoy coming to some or all of this series of workshops, and making a textile panel for the Loving Earth Project. It might illustrate something you love that is threatened by environmental change, or something that you are doing about it.

We will provide fabrics and threads and some guidance, but it would be lovely if you could bring your own scissors, needles and other items if you have them. Similarly if you are a knitter or weaver, please bring your equipment. We can create in silence and/or share skills and reflections on the making or environmental issues as we go.

More information about how to make panels is at http://lovingearth-project.uk/textile-panels/, (in case you want to start before then) and you can make as many as you like!

All are welcome to these informal workshops, so why not bring a friend? Workshops will be on alternate Mondays: 16th and 30th January , 13th and 27th February, and 13th March 2023. We hope panels and accompanying texts can be included in exhibitions in the pipeline later in the year.
