September 7, 2019 @ 2:00 pm - 3:00 pm

Free

Talk by Jon Lovett, chair of Global Challenges at Leeds University, on the possibility, offered by technological advances in renewable energy and manufacturing, of developing a circular economy within which we can retain the advantages of modern life without destroying the world in which we live, and create Green Jobs at the same time. The talk will explore the concept of institutional economics and Michael Porter’s theory on the role of environmental regulation in stimulating innovation and competitiveness.
This talk is the last in a series of three by Professor Lovett, offered as part of Swarthmoor Hall’s summer art exhibition Seeking Routes (20th July-8th Sept), organised in collaboration with Quaker Arts Network
