QAN poet wins prize
News 1 CommentCongratulations to Dorothy Jerrome whose poem about the shrill carder bee (written at Lucy Aprhamor’s Swarthmoor workshop in July) has just won first prize in a competition held by the Bumblebee Conservation Trust .
Here it is:
In the twinkling of an eye
She darts from purple lavender to mint
High pitched buzz of the
Shrill carder bee
Tawny back, black eyes
Homing in on sweet treats
Mist of blue uninterrupted bliss
The only other sound
My indrawn breath.

Congratulations Dorothy!
I know that you got a lot out of that workshop so thanks to Lucy as well.
